It’s that time of the year again when Apple fans start speculating about what and how Apple’s next flagship phone is going to be. With some exciting reports coming fresh off the rumour mill, we couldn’t help but share with fellow iPhone enthusiasts.
According to the latest rumours on China’s social networking website, Weibo, Apple will be coming out with not two, but THREE new flagships this year. Along with the regular 4.7 inch Apple iPhone 7 and the 5.5 inch Apple iPhone 7 Plus, the makers are also coming out with a new ‘premium’ version expected to be titled iPhone 7 Pro. The fact that iPhones most often end up costing more than Rs. 40,000, a need for an even more premium phone can be questioned.
3 new iPhones to choose from this September
Even though most of the features of the new phones are kept tightly under wraps, it is known that the ‘Pro’ will end up costing approximately $150 (Rs 10,200) more than the other two new models. Rumour has it that the iPhone Pro will have a dual-back camera set-up and will allow wireless charging, much like the iPad Pro.
Not a major overhaul
Having said all that, it is to be noted that the new iPhones will look and feel fairly similar to its predecessors like the iPhone 6 and 6s. The difference, however, can be noticed under the hood as it’s expected to have a faster processor, more RAM and hopefully a bigger battery. Some sources also report that Apple might completely do away with the 3.5mm headphones as well to make the phone slimmer. They might, though, give away a USB type-C to 3.5mm headphone jack converter with their new devices. Just like before, the new phones will also come in two sizes – 4.7 inches and 5.5 inches.
If you are waiting to buy iPhone 7, we suggest you wait for another year.
If you have been waiting to get your hands on the Apple iPhone 7, 7 Plus or 7 Pro, we suggest you wait for another year for the iPhone 8 when Apple go for a complete overhaul of their flagship phones. Since next year is known to be the 10th anniversary of the original iPhone, a host of rumours and comments from industry experts suggest that they might completely change the way it looks, feels and performs. The 2017 iPhone will also finally get an edge-to-edge OLED display (a feature Samsung’s had for quite some time now), along with a fingerprint sensor all over the screen axing the home button completely. Industry sources say that Apple will ditch the metal and go for a complete glass body as Apple’s head of design Jony Ive desires to shrink an iPhone to a single sheet of glass. Now now, wouldn’t that be absolutely gorgeous?
